Simple English

I have a friend whose name is Nur Imanina. She has the ability to lift my spirits by just being herself. Above her dark brown eyes lies a perfect set of full eyebrows. Her perfect little nose accents her face nicely. Many times I am mystified by her ability to just sit and listen to pour out my mind. She smile looking at me as we spend time together with the others in the classroom.

She introduces her cousin whose name is Sarah Amirah to me. Sooner or later we meet Fitrah Qadari and Sabrina Simon as they introduces themselves in the classroom. We meet many friends during that time. The first boy who sits beside me is Awang Mohamad Afifi. I could remember him because of his friendliness. But things getting out of hand as I am dealing with another type of friend who is outraged. I call him Shahiran. I really try my best being a good friend and getting along with him. But instead he humiliates me with his words and threaten  me with his violence. But I treat him back with kindness. Until one day he come and asks for my forgiveness. I forgive him. And I still remember the sandwiches he give me in return. We become good friends.

But somehow I become a victim of bullying because of just one girl in the class. One day I cannot tolerate it anymore and I feel tortured. I take scissors with me and run as fast as lightning to the toilet. I thought I just bring it along with me and put in my pocket without reason. I hide myself outside of the toilet and cry like a little child. I feel a hand touch on my shoulder. On that time, I look up and I am surpised! Where does she come from? She is my teacher and she hug me. Nur Izzati is the one who look out for help. She finds the teacher by the help of Mike Xavier who is in charge as the class monitor.  The whole class is in panic when they find out from Nur Izzati that I want to hurt myself with the stupid knife. I thought I just bring it along with me and put in my pocket without reason.

At that particular juncture, Nur Imanina suddenly have a bright idea to write a poem for me. She asks some friends to help her out with the card. And Sarah Amirah do with some drawing on it. After I finish some counselling with the teacher, I walk in the classroom. At first I have no idea the card is made for me. I thought it is make specifically for someone else. I act as nothing happen so I sit and continue my reading.

After recess with my friends, I feel mild astonishment as I see the card in the drawer. I read the words one by one and begin to cry. Sabrina Simon come and hug me. She wants me to promise that I will never attempt suicide in my life and to always cherish things in life. I hug her and say, " I am truly sorry, my friend. I will never do it again". Then one by one come to me and expressing their feelings and gratitude being a friend. The girl who bully me come and ask for my forgiveness. I forgive her in return. I still keep the card with me and put it in my box. I store treasures in the box and the card is one of them. I always keep the friendship in my heart. Nur Imanina may never realise how much of an impact she has been on my life. I thank her not only for the card but for everything. There are many friends out there make a big impact in my life. I want to say thank you to each one of you.

I take a look at the card and reread it. Although the card is make of plain paper, it is make from a beautiful friendship and a pure heart. As the saying goes, never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life. I will do the same to my friends.

This is my first Haiku. It represents friendship.

I look up and wait,
As you reach your heart to me,
To love you always.

I remember you,
When you come and lend a hand,
And look at my eyes.

A person like you,
I will always remember,
Anywhere I go.

How can friendship help you find the meaning of life?

Friends help you overcome challenges you may face at times in your life. A special thing about friendship is that friends have the ability to do this different ways like simply talking something through and giving advice or physically helping you. In difficult times, friends make you see things from a different point of view, allowing you to take time to reflect and examine the situation. By doing this it allows you to see another perspective of the situation and find another way to overcome your challenge.

Not only do friends help you through situations, but they go about this through love. Friends are people in your life that love and care about you. They will not only help you through something but they are the ones that will always be there for you in those times of need. They care about you and how you feel and that is what makes them a true friend. A friend is someone who believes in you when you have ceased to believe in yourself. They help you to find the meaning of life because they let you know that there is someone out there that cares for you and that you are valuable to someone else in this world.
